MALT must have funds to finish job of protecting ag land

Matt Dolkas - MALT

I was dismayed to see that the portion of the proposed funding for the Marin Agricultural Land Trust’s purchase of agricultural easements on the extension of Measure A on the June ballot was cut from near 20% to 10% by the Marin Board of Supervisors.

I believe that every day lost in the pursuit of securing agricultural land increases the cost of the easements, as well as the chance that the land will be sold without protection.
