Need help navigating the many regulatory and funding agencies? Wondering who to talk to for design assistance on an upcoming project? Farming and ranching offer no shortage of complex challenges, and the MALT Stewardship Assistance Program (SAP) and staff are here to help. MALT’s stewardship staff can provide on-the-ground advice and technical assistance to help you achieve your planning, conservation and management needs.
How can MALT help me with technical assistance?
SAP can help you plan, design and/or pay for:
- Manure or nutrient management design and implementation with a great team of local partners and experienced staff.
- Soil sampling to understand what might be limiting your forage or livestock production, what nutrients might be excessive and how to plan strategies for improving soil health.
- Engineering and permitting assistance for conservation practices and projects with our close partner, the Marin Resource Conservation District (Marin RCD).
- Water rights reporting, which is required for landowners with reservoirs.
SAP will also help you navigate the planning and permitting processes for these projects, connect you with other partner organizations and look for additional funding sources.
