Leiss Ranch, Petaluma
We are excited to invite you back on the land for two spring wildflower walks! Join us at Leiss Ranch on May 14 or May 29 for a self-guided walk through gently rolling pastures dotted with wildflowers.
Leiss Ranch, MALT protected since 2003, is owned and operated by Nancy Chaffin and her sister Betsy. Nancy is a strong steward of the land, working with MALT’s conservation team and Point Blue Conservation Science’s Student and Teachers Restoring a Watershed program on various land management projects that have helped protect a tributary flowing through the ranch’s lush grazing pastures. Years ago, Nancy followed in her mother’s bootsteps and took a keen interest in identifying and cataloging wildflowers found on their land. She and other botanists have noted more than 60 species to date!
