You’re Invited: Rooted to the Ranch

Join us for an afternoon of gratitude and connection as we celebrate our wonderful volunteers. We’re gathering at the historic Straus Home Ranch—a MALT-protected property where Ellen Straus and Phyllis Faber first planted the seeds of agricultural conservation—to honor YOU and the incredible work you make possible.

What to Expect
Come enjoy food, drinks, and Straus soft serve ice cream with fellow volunteers.

Discover the Legacy
Vivien Straus will share the remarkable history of Straus Home Ranch and how this place sparked a movement to protect West Marin’s farmland.

See Your Impact
Learn about MALT’s current projects and hear directly from a small grant recipient about how your volunteer support creates real change on the ground.

Explore & Connect
Tour this beautiful ranch and meet fellow volunteers who share your passion for protecting and stewarding West Marin’s agricultural land.

Why Join Us?
This is more than a thank you—it’s a chance to step onto the land you’re helping to protect, better understand our work and impact, and connect with the community that makes it all possible. Just as healthy soil ensures growth, your dedication ensures the future of West Marin’s farmland.

Registration is required, and you must be a current MALT volunteer to attend this event. If you would like to become a volunteer please email Courtney Biryukov at cbiryukov@malt.org.

Please contact Kirsten Arnett at karnett@malt.org or (415) 663-1158, ext. 306, with any questions

We hope you’ll join us for a meaningful afternoon of appreciation, learning, and connection!
