MALT matters in Marin now more than ever

October 11, 2021

Thanks to MALT’s efforts, more than half of Marin’s agricultural land — more than 54,000 acres — is permanently protected for agricultural use. On this protected land, MALT works with ranchers, farmers and numerous local organizations and government agencies to steward the land. MALT has invested more than $90 million in private and public funding from federal, state and local sources — including Measure A — to improve MALT-protected lands through carbon farming, soil improvement, habitat and stream restoration, as well as other regenerative practices.
