Every spring, the hills of MALT-protected Leiss Ranch in Hicks Valley turn a vibrant shade of green and are spotted with native wildflowers.

Join owner Nancy Chaffin for a short talk about the history of this 208-acre ranch and learn about the stewardship projects she has completed with MALT and our partner organizations. You will be able to explore the gently rolling hills of the ranch on a self-guided walk and hopefully catch the wildflower bloom!

Bring your walking shoes, water, picnic blanket, and an optional picnic lunch to eat at your leisure.

Registration is required.

Accessibility: Parking will be along the main entrance road that is flat but not paved. Bathrooms will be located near the front entrance. The walk will be a leisurely stroll around the property up to approximately one mile, and will not require a guide. Family members of all ages are welcome, but please leave dogs and other pets at home.

As we are offering three public wildflower walks at Leiss Ranch this spring, please plan to register for the one date that would best suit your schedule in order to preserve space for others to join on other dates.
