Happy 75th Anniversary, NVFD!

November 22, 2021

The Nicasio Volunteer Fire Department (NVFD) kicked off its 75th Anniversary celebration in October with a fundraising barbecue, and MALT was proud to express its gratitude to the long-serving organization with a $500 donation.

The fire department, joined by the Nicasio Ladies Auxiliary, hosted the West Marin Halloween event at Rancho Nicasio, where nearly 200 costumed guests danced to music from Soul Ska and enjoyed heaps of delicious BBQ with all the fixings.

The good food and cheer were enhanced by the “sharing of community that we have longed for over the last year and a half” because of the pandemic, said Tory Grady, an event organizer. “We are celebrating our amazing community, our resilience and increasing return to everyday life. Truly we are blessed by the support.”

The department is still looking for financial support toward the upcoming fire season. Contributions can be made online, or by contacting the fire station for details at (415) 662-2201.
