Healthy Soils

March 19, 2019

Dirt takes center stage in the fight against climate change at a workshop sponsored by Marin Agricultural Land Trust (MALT) from 1 to 4 p.m. March 30. Soil expert Jonathan Wachter will explain the basics of healthy soil practices and carbon farming and the impact on food producers’ ability to protect water sources, farm lands and animals. The $25 workshop is at Toluma Farms, a pioneer in carbon farming and also home of Tomales Farmstead Creamery, at 5488 Middle Road in Tomales. It will include hands-on activities, a tour of the farm and a cheese tasting. To register or learn more about MALT and carbon farming, go to malt.org.
