- Dogs or other pets are unfortunately unable to attend our events, unless they are a certified service animal. Service animals are defined as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. A service animal must be under the control of its handler. Under the ADA, service animals must be harnessed, leashed, or tethered, unless the individual’s disability prevents using these devices or these devices interfere with the service animal’s safe, effective performance of tasks. Please let us know before the event that you will be accompanied by a service animal so we may inform the property owner. When attending events, please don’t bring or leave your animal in your car.
- Events provide the community an opportunity to learn about the public benefits of land conservation and stewardship. Consider supporting MALT with a gift to advance our events program.
- There is limited cell service in West Marin, so print or save driving directions before venturing out.
- Carpool when possible, as parking is limited. MALT signs are at the entrance of our events. You will be guided to your parking spot.
Please complete this waiver before attending a MALT hike.
- We are excited to welcome you and your guests out on MALT farms and ranches. Please feel free to FILL YOUR CAR. If you have friends or family who would like to attend, and all of you can fit in one vehicle, have them register, complete the waiver, and bring them along.
- Bring a full water bottle, walking sticks, sunscreen, a hat, boots or closed toed shoes you don’t mind getting muddy, and any of your regular walking gear. Long pants are recommended.
- You are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy in designated picnic areas.
- Arrive anytime during indicated event hours, however, departure times are strict and all guests must be off the properties by the designated end time. An information table will be onsite and available for questions.
- As these are working farms and ranches, no dogs or smoking are allowed.
- A bathroom is available at the start of hikes, but there are no facilities along the way.
- When going through a gate at a ranch or farm, please close it after you pass through.
- Please don’t disturb or get too close to any animals.

- You must be completely off property by the designated end time of the hike or event.
Cancellation Policy
If you or anyone in your party are unable to attend the event, please contact us to cancel the registration in advance of the event. In order to provide the best possible experience we must have accurate information and attendance counts. It is of the utmost importance that we know if you can no longer attend an event, even if it is a free event. This also gives waitlisted guests an opportunity to attend.
Weather Considerations
In the case of extreme or limiting weather conditions, MALT may need to cancel an event. If an event is canceled, MALT will try to reschedule and will contact guests directly regarding updated details.
We are excited to provide the public with an opportunity to explore MALT- protected farms and ranches. If you have any questions about MALT events, please contact Kirsten Arnett at karnett@malt.org or (415) 663-1158, ext. 306.
