The Leiss family ranch is a hidden gem, bursting with more than 45 recorded varieties of wildflowers during the spring season. A popular MALT tradition, bring the family and a picnic lunch for a leisurely, informative hike with ranch owner Nancy Chaffin and local botanists.
Date: Saturday, April 22
Time: 10 a.m.–2 p.m.
Place: Leiss Ranch, Petaluma
Cost: $10 for MALT members/$20 for nonmembers/kids under 12 free
What to Bring: Picnic lunch, blanket, water, sunhat, sunscreen, hiking shoes and a walking stick for uneven terrain. Optional: Download iNaturalist on your smartphone and help MALT map the many varieties of wildflowers we see.
Hike Distance: 1.5 mile round-trip, uneven terrain with some inclines
Age Appropriate: 6 years and up
