Donate to the Ellen Straus
Farmland Preservation Fund
The memory of MALT's co-founder, dairywoman Ellen Straus, lives on in the legacy of more than 41,600 acres of Marin County farmland and 65 family farms permanently protected from development.
We created the Ellen Straus Farmland Preservation Fund in Ellen's honor. Gifts to this fund are used to purchase conservation easements. In the last three years, with funds from individuals, state and federal agencies, and foundation grants, we have been able to preserve another six family farms in West Marin from subdivision and non-agricultural development.
To learn more about these family farms visit our Profiles in Preservation page.
Please consider joining the circle of donors who have given to our Farmland Forever Campaign. In the next two years, we hope to protect another five family farms on 3,000 acres of farmland in Marin County. To accomplish this, we particularly need your support at this critical time.
You may make a one-time gift to our campaign, or pledge a gift over three to five years to help us reach our goal.
